Keene Publishing, an independent publisher, seeks to publish books that illuminate the minds and lives of readers. We are committed to publishing books that matter—books that inform, inspire, and entertain as they provide our readers with a keener understanding of a subject, explored either through fiction or nonfiction. Our books offer readers of all ages an opportunity to grow, to learn, to share.

Tired of getting rejection notices? Wondering why publishers do not publish your manuscript? Already have a book that you can't seem to get into the hands of readers? We highly recommend "Putting Your Passon Into Print" by Arielle Eckstut and David Henry Sterry (published by Workman Publishing.
Manuscript Submissions
Our 2008-2009 Publication Calendar is full. We will begin to consider manuscripts for 2010 publication calendar Summer 2009 and we will consider books in different genres, for both children and adults.
If you feel your manuscript is truly unique (nothing like it in the bookstores) and that your manuscript will illuminate the reader's life (take a look at our books so you know what we mean by this), you may submit it for our consideration. We prefer to see the entire manuscript rather than a synopsis. Please send us a manuscript that has been edited by a professional editor in your genre (e.g., an experienced fantasy editor or children's book editor) and proofed by a professional proofreader. Any manuscripts showing the lack of either will be returned immediately. Be sure to include your market analysis and plans for how you will promote your book each week.

We try to keep up with our reading, but alas we sometimes fall behind, especially when a book is in production for release. Please allow 8 weeks for a response. If you want the manuscript returned, be sure to include a SASE with sufficient return postage.
Keene Publishing does not accept submissions for vanity publishing or payment for publishing manuscripts for authors. However, when our publication calendar is full, we do offer a manuscript critiquing service to assist talented authors in finding the proper home for their manuscript. Please see below for more information.

Art Submissions
A single sample or website reference would be sufficient. Please send your art sample to our PO Box listed above or email website reference to ART Submission. We will keep your art on file and contact you when your style matches a book need.
